Joshua Brown, second laureate and audience favorite of the 2024 Queen Elisabeth Competition, brings together with pianist Elodie Vignon – no stranger to the Flagey audience – a program full of deep expression and technical mastery. From Schubert’s energetic Rondo brillant and Schumann’s dramatic violin sonata to Janáček’s intense sonata and Fauré’s refined first sonata, the dialogue between violin and piano forms the heart of this repertoire. Brown and Vignon analyze the rich emotions and complex sound worlds of these nineteenth- and early twentieth-century masterpieces with precision and passion.
